By determining extremely low levels of compounds, single quadrupole GC-mass spectrometry can exhibit high performance with reductions in extraction times for the analysis of explosives.
This application provides a method for analyzing a number of explosive compounds, including precursors and residues, using negative chemical ionization and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The method demonstrates reliable results and achieves excellent levels of sensitivity for fast screens and a large dynamic range for quantitation. The method offers a means of providing accurate and rapid identification of explosive residues using fast GC techniques.
