The DXR SmartRaman features multiple laser wavelength options and a choice of spectral resolution. Exchanging lasers, filters, and gratings can be done by the user as the DXR features components using SmartLock technology. SmartLock also ensures compatibility and reproducibility when exchanging components. The system provides versatility, flexibility, all within a Class 1 laser safety enclosure. The DXR SmartRaman sampling accessories use pinned-in-place technology to attach to the DXR SmartRaman base, where they are immediately recognized by the OMNIC" software using Smart technology.
The DXR SmartRaman is designed from start to finish as a robust analytical tool. The system features patented autoalignment, automated calibration, a spectrograph with no moving parts, and user replaceable pre-aligned Smart components which all combine to make the instrument easy to use and easy to maintain in prime working condition.
The DXR SmartRaman system features a full range of sampling features, as samples come in all kinds of formats. The Universal Platform Sampling Accessory has four different Smart toolheads, the Universal Plate, the Bottle Holder, the Tablet Holder, and the Array Autosampler which can accommodate multi-well plates and other samples in array format. Other accessories include the Carousel Autosampler which has two different carousels that can hold 5-mm or 13-mm tubes, the 180 Degree Accessory for a wide variety of sample types and heating, cooling, and electrochemical cells, and Fiber Optic Probes for each of the laser wavelengths. The system employs autofocus, autoexposure and Smart Backgrounds (collected when the instrument is not being used) allowing the user to collect good data effortlessly. Automatic fluorescence correction and automatic intensity correction minimize background interference and provide reproducible, comparable results.
The DXR SmartRaman uses the same OMNIC" Professional Software Suite that drives all Thermo Scientific laboratory systems—including the DXR Raman microscope. OMNIC is an intuitive, user-friendly software package that offers all of the power and versatility required to exploit the capabilities of the spectrometer.
OMNIC Array Automation software automates the acquisition of data from sample arrays, including the popular multi-well format. Powerful quantitative methods, including hierarchical cluster analysis and multivariate curve resolution, assist the analyst in rapidly extracting meaningful information from the large quantities of information-rich spectra generated by high-throughput applications.
