Transient, stable, inducible and in vivo RNAi
Thermo Scientific now has the largest offering of shRNA technology provided in either plasmid or viral format. This includes Open Biosystems Products’ microRNA-adapted shRNA (shRNAmir) libraries targeting human and mouse genomes. Developed in collaboration with Greg Hannon at Cold Spring Harbor Labs and Steve Elledge at Harvard University, shRNAmir triggers for RNAi produce increased specificity and efficient knockdown at single copy. Lentiviral, inducible lentiviral and retroviral vector formats are available to allow the broadest use in all cell lines including those resistant to transfection such as stem cells, primary cells and neuronal cells. Additionally, the microRNA-adapted Dharmacon SMARTvector® shRNA lentiviral platform combines the advantages of shRNAmir and lentiviral delivery and is provided as ready-to-use high-titer virus for reduced toxicity.
